Our Story

Charlie Kibet has the vision to create a unique training center in Iten. He gets the opportunity to rent for long term the current Swiss Side which is a simple kenyan building at this time.

The renovation of the building starts early March up to June 2021. The work in Kenya is quick but requires a tight supervision. From July, the focus is made on the furnishing of the flats with some local suppliers. All our furnitures are locally made, with local materials to reduce our support our community and reduce our carbon impact.

Our first guest from France arrives mid-October. Followed by other athletes from several nationalities such as Sweden, Erytrea, Algeria, Russia, Australia, Libanon, Germany, Slovakia, Kenya and Switzerland in the first 3 months. Our center quickly becomes a reference in Iten, for its central location and its "feel-home" atmosphere.

The Swiss Side celebrates its 1'000th night. With 19 nationalities hosted in our center and 42 nationalities that benefited from our services (cryotherapy, massages, bike rental and excursions), we reached an unexpected worldwide audience.

The Swiss Side has now hosted 30 nationalities and more than 50 nationalities used our services of cryotherapy, massage, bike rental and safari. Our development is continuous and our company now proposes a sauna opened to everyone, some pacing services for athletes and owns a 4wd tour van for safaris.
